You certainly can, we are only too happy to show you how we process, dry and store our Firewood. Please get in touch to arrange a visit.
It depends on how often you plan to use your fireplace or wood stove. A regular user will get through at least 0.7m3/bulk bag a month. The more you order the cheaper it gets per m3, so if you're able to and have the space....We'd advice ordering as much as you can then top up as necessary....
We're patient, so let nature do its job, the sun and wind dry our logs. We cut and split logs then leave them a year in open sided barns to naturally dry to below 20% moisture. We're quality assured by Woodsure and produce Ready to Burn firewood.
Locally sourced in Herefordshire. Our current stock has come from Vowchurch, Weobley and Dinmore.
Our Hardwood logs are mainly Ash (due to ash dieback), loads also may be mixed including Oak, Birch, Beech, Cherry and Sycamore.
We prefer to complete the first delivery when you are at home, when we know the lie of the land at your property we can deliver when you are out if you are happy with that. This is how we work with most of our customers.
We have however successfully completed “First Time Deliveries” when the customer has not been at home, by having a few photos of the property, the access and where the order is to be placed.
If it is raining we cover the logs on our truck during transit. We ask that you leave some form of protection such as a tarp and we will cover it when its unloaded.
Firewood according to the Government legislation has to be 20% or lower moisture content if sold in quantities of 2 Cubic Metres or less. The method of drying matters not it just has to be dry.
